This was the first sketchbook I started keeping. Before, it never felt important enough. My mind believed that the only work that needed to be done were the big pieces completed on cardstock with colorful fineliner pens.

Until this first sketchbook, I never understood the point. Then, I took the plunge, and bought one that I could carry with me everywhere, and only needed a pen to use. Each cartoon began to represent something, or someone. I sketched what I saw in the world, regardless of where in the world I was. My journalling became more about the universe than my inner demons.
