FOR THE LOVE OF INGREDIENTS
Over my course of time, I’ve gathered knowledge about different ingredients. If you’re a home cook, like I am, I know you have your favorite go-to’s as well. Sharing what we’ve learned is one of the most precious parts of cooking. It not only makes an impact on the communities around us, but also expands our breadth of knowledge. The better our knowledge, or the more our knowledge, the better our cooking.
What oils to use, what to do with old wine, how different cheeses react in different recipes — all of this is what makes food what food is. These articles don’t only aim to better your pantry, but also to better how you use ingredients, and explain myths and facts about what we believe we know.
Sharing that wisdom with all of you might also help broaden my horizons, by waking my mind up into how each type or ingredient works by describing it out loud. Also, if you have any wisdom of your own to share, each article has a space at the bottom where you can add comments.
I hope you learn from these articles, helping your cooking and others’s cooking around you, and I hope you share your wisdom with me.
There’s something peaceful about the method of creating foods for ourselves, and those around us. Learning is a huge chunk of creating a more peaceful way to cook. I hope you find these articles grounding, learn-worthy, and full of information.
