Life is one giant math equation. It’s measured by time, space, currency, and many other measures done by mathematics. It could even be said that it’s many, giant equations piling on top of one another, fighting for dominance in everyday society, and everyday minds. Even cooking is math. Tying your shoes and decorating your house involves geometry. This is everywhere, even in how we string words together. Each poem might not be about math, or use mathematical words or terms, but in my mind, every poem is still an equation.
It’s the length, how they sound, repetition, and how they end. It’s how the sound of each poem sounds in your head, and in your mouth as you read them aloud. Creating a book filled with soul is a complicated equation in and of itself, whether you know you’re using math or not. Just as life, everyday, is filled with numbers creating who we are.
Actual quadratic equations might not make an appearance in each poem, but just like these mathematical types, each poem is simply an equation of words. I hope you find each poem to be thought-provoking, and for at least some of them to get under your skin.
There are 93 poems of varying length in this collection.
This collection is available in an ePub and PDF here, on Armida Warrior, and over on Etsy as a zip file, containing both versions. Available to read on all eReaders, including computer reading apps, smartphones, and tablets. You can print out the PDF to read in hard copy.
