Hematophagy is the practice of having a diet based on the consumption of blood — like mosquitoes or vampire bats. Sometimes, the world feels as though it’s swallowing itself, or swallowing me. The world can be draining. This collection of poems is word vomit, done around, and about, a time when I realized I could fight back. I didn’t have to live my life, watching from the audience, anymore. My life could finally be mine, and I’m the one who could mold and turn it into whatever I wanted it to be. This blood in my veins, it’s mine. It’s nobody else’s. These poems in, HEMATOPHAGY, both dissect and celebrate my realization and my pain. I hope these excerpts from this collection are a good representation of it.

The collection itself is of a 101-poem length spanning the feelings of being swallowed, consumed, and ending out on the other side, stronger than I’d ever been before.

This collection is available in an ePub and PDF on Armida Warrior and Etsy as a zip file, containing both versions.  Available to read on all eReaders, including computer reading apps, smartphones, and tablets.
