The Forgotten Love

I hadn’t had this gin for a really, really long time. It had been years. The day before I made this cocktail, I’d wandered my favorite booze shop and discovered that they sold my favorite ingredient. This gin is something I always used to use, and used all the time. No, this is not sponsored. I just really, really love this gin. It was a forgotten love of mine. Bringing a bottle home reminded me of all of the lost recipes I’d made with it. This newest recipe made me reminiscent for all of the old drinks I’d used to make with it. I hope you find yourself loving this recipe as much as I loved developing it.

Ingredients:
1 part Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin
1 part Sazerac rye
1/2 part Old Overholt rye
1/2 lime, for juice and garnish
Directions:
Carve a long strip of rind off lime and quarter it. Add ice to a mixing glass. Add alcohol. Squeeze in lime juice. Stir with bar spoon until glass begins to sweat. Strain into coupe glass. Garnish with lime rind.
Serving Suggestions:
Grilled cheese, burrito, grilled salmon.
