Paint Crap Jewelry

I was cleaning dried paint off their bottles. As someone who loves to paint, I clean the caps off often, making sure they can snap shut in order to keep the artist medium safe. A part of being an artist is learning how to protect whatever medium you’re using. It’s why, a lot of the time, the things we usually throw out are things we learn to turn into mediums themselves.

When peeling the dried crap off the bottles, I noticed how strong and sturdy it was. It was as sturdy as soft plastic, and had a hole where the paint had exited through, that could be used to thread it onto a string for a necklace. That’s where my first thought went: jewelry. So, I grabbed satin cord, measured it, and turned it into something I’d love to wear.

Paint crap can also be easily threaded onto a string or ribbon for bracelets.

What’s nice about creativity is that anything is possible. Those things that look like they can’t be anything can become a solution to a problem. I throw away too much paint crap to keep my paint safe? Okay, let’s turn it into beads for a pendant.

The more creative you are, the more the impossible becomes possible. Sometimes, the craziest ideas are the ones that work the best. The most inventive answers to problems are also the ones that are most creative. The more inventive your brain, the less your work will be like anybody else’s.

That’s the power of art: being different and celebrating individuality.

Using objects for uses they’re not designed for, creating canvases for projects out of trash, and finding unconventional art supplies all come from both creativity and the need to be inventive. Creating something amazing out of nothing is one of the most important lessons to learn as an artist. The more you learn to do that, the more you can apply that knowledge to any part of what you create. A part of living is creating your life, which, if this skill is learned, and harnessed, can fill your life with an ingenuity you developed yourself.

Finding ways to utilize different objects in different ways, such as turning paint crap into jewelry, is a part of filling your life with problems solved in a creative way.

Crap can always be turned into treasure, you just need to find the spark that lights the idea.
