Hair Tie Ribbons

There are many, many ways to tie your hair back, or up. You don’t just need to use ponytail holders or scrunchies. There’s an easy, classic way to tie up your hair, and it involves ribbons. You can use old strips of fabric, cut into the lengths and sizes you want… or, you can grab an old scarf and scoop your hair into it, knotting your hair into a ponytail. I love this method because it opens up many more hairstyles than classic elastics or scrunchies could ever do.
You don’t even need to only use them in place of ponytail holders, also known as elastics or scrunchies. You could also wear them as headbands, square scarves as bandanas, or thread them through the elastics to create endless hairstyles.
Finding more tools to equip yourself with as you continue your style journey will broaden your scope of what you can do. The more tools you can find, the more you can do. It’s about discovering tips and tricks that fit with you as a human, and utilizing them. The more tricks you love to use, the more you can explore who you are.

Style is about showing your insides on your outsides. It’s about exploring your sense of self and being able to display it to the entire world. Understanding your style, and having the tools to display it on yourself, shows the world who you are on your insides… on your outsides. Style is how you show the world who you are.
And, the more ways you can depict your style, the better.
Fashion is the objects you wear. Style is how you wear them. I forget who said that first, but they were right, which is why using scarves, bandanas, and ribbons as hair accessories is so important.
What’s also nice is that anyone, no matter what haircut or hair type, can benefit from using ribbons, scarves, or bandanas for their hair. No matter what cut you have, these are accessories that can make your pixie look new. Imagine a headband out of a scarf tied around the hairline. It updates the hair you have, without you wanting a new haircut. It creates the illusion of newness, even if what you have is a few months old.
We’re always chasing something ‘new’, and sometimes knowing how to utilize things like elastics, clips, and ribbons makes the illusion of the ‘new’ without being new. Allowing yourself to explore your ability of using these objects will help you create who you are for the world to see.

And that, that is fashion: the idea and belief system involving showing who you are to the world.
Trends don’t matter.
It’s who you are, and how you choose to show it, that does.
Nobody should ever be afraid of being who they are, and figuring out your own style can help with that.
As always, the word ‘should’ means ‘if you can, you must.’
So, if you can, you must.
