The Dad's House

Cocktails have always been something I’ve shared with my father. It had been a while since I was able to share them with him, but as we grow closer, our tastebuds are something that always grow together. Somehow, I got him into martinis. This is a spin on one of our favorite cocktails. There’s a little bit of gin, a little bit of vodka, a few olives, and, surprisingly good absinthe. I guess that’s what makes it my own recipe: I love splitting vodka and gin in martinis. One of the most important ingredients, though? Absinthe. It brings out the juniper of the berry and the salinity of the olives. This cocktail is called ‘Dad’s House’, an ode to my father and our ever-growing repertoire of cocktails I’ve invented at his house!

Ingredients:
4 spanish olives
1 bar spoon of olive juice
1/2 part St. George Absinthe
1 part Smoke Lab Vodka
2 parts Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin
Directions:
Muddle pitted Spanish olives in the bottom of a round tumbler with the back of your bar spoon. Splash in a bar spoon of olive juice. Add giant, square ice cube. Splash in absinthe, vodka, and gin. Stir with long end of bar spoon until glass is ice cold. Consume immediately.
