The Frigid Day

Be careful, this is an easy one to drink. All it takes is two liqueurs, some bitters, and a lot of bourbon, and you have yourself a cocktail that is dangerous, but not too dangerous. The combination of ingredients leaves you with something, sweet, fresh, and with a little bit of a bite. It’s a good drink to have on an icy, cold day. You might be reading this in the summer or spring, but the cocktail was invented in the dead of winter. We had a foot of snow, and, to commemorate, I built a cocktail fit for frigid weather. Don’t forget the short straw! It helps get the mouth feel to the exact point where I wanted it to be.

Ingredients:
2 parts 1792 bourbon
1 part Mr. Boston creme de menthe
1 part Barenjager honey liqueur
6 dashes Peychaud’s Aromatic bitters
Direction:
Add ice halfway up a shaker. Add all ingredients. Shake until ice cold. Strain into tumbler. Add short straw. Consume while still cold.
