The Home As Honey

This was the first cocktail I made in my apartment. Collecting the ingredients over months, and finally freezing ice, allowed me to craft a drink. It took a while to be able to, but once I was able to create it, it was well worth the wait. It’s sweet, but still has a bit of a bite. If you’re like me, and care not for sweet cocktails, I think you may like this one anyway. I do. I’m definitely hardly a frilly cocktail person. I even made fun of myself for it with ‘The Frilly Frill’, one which has already been released. As always, I’m mixing two base liquors together to round out the base before adding the other ingredients. This is for the people who don’t like the frills, but still want something sweet. It’s also for the rest of you. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do.

Ingredients:
1 1/4 part Remy Martin 1738
2 parts Old Overholt rye
2 parts Barenjager honey liqueur
Splash maraschino juice
4 maraschino cherries
Directions:
Add ice halfway up a shaker. Pour in the alcohol and the cherry juice. Shake until the shaker just begins to sweat. Strain into a tumbler. Plop in maraschino cherries.
Serving Suggestions:
Filet mignon, brie with an onion roll, escargot.
