Manhattan Pirate

Okay, so, yes, this is basically a bourbon Manhattan with more lemon juice, coconut sugar, and rum. Typically, in a Manhattan, you’d have regular simple syrup instead of coconut sugar. Strike one for me. You also wouldn’t have rum. That’s strike two. And, last, but certainly not least, you’d have lemon juice, but not nearly as much. That’s what makes this half-Manhattan, and half-pirate-centered cocktail. The rum adds a really nice sweetness and tanginess, while the coconut sugar is sweet and a bit umami. Overall, a good drink if you’re not one to usually want the infamous Manhattan.
